Cosmetic Contouring

Cosmetic Contouring - London Smiling
What is Cosmetic Contouring and what does it do?

Cosmetic contouring is a conservative procedure to improve the appearance of fractured, worn or irregular teeth. A cosmetic dentist can eliminate worn edges or small chips in your front teeth by tooth contouring and re-shaping them into a more pleasing shape.

Using a polishing instrument, the cosmetic dentist removes small amounts of enamel to contour the tooth. This technique is most useful in cases of slight to moderate overlapping of the front teeth, slight rotation of the front teeth, uneven wear, or teeth that don’t have their biting and incising edges in harmony.

How long does it take?

Cosmetic contouring can often be done in one visit. The procedure is relatively quick, simple, painless, and inexpensive.

How long does it last?

Cosmetic tooth contouring is permanent in the sense that the surface of your own natural teeth is removed in order to reveal a smoother tooth profile. The procedure of course cannot guard against future chips or damage created by regular wear and tear on the teeth.
