Kissable Lips for Valentine’s Day

Hi everyone,

I’m sure for the past few weeks you’ve noticed the abundance of giant teddy bears, bouquets of roses, and boxes of chocolate occupying all the aisles and windows of shops, which only means one thing… Valentine’s Day is upon us.

Now, although I happen to be a huge fan of St V myself, this holiday can create mixed emotions. Regardless of whether you’re opting for the traditional romantic dinner date with that special someone, or using it as a great excuse to party with your girlfriends, it’s always good to ensure you’re lip-lock ready… just in case!

Happy valentines dayBelow, I’ve listed my top tips to guarantee those kissable lips:

  1. First and foremost, MOISTURISE! As cosy and lovely as Christmas was, the season also brought around some frosty forecasts which didn’t do our lips any favours. To treat those winter chapped lips, opt for a balm that contains Vitamin B as this is proven to help condition the skin.
  2. Secondly, a proven trick amongst many MUA’s and celebrities alike is to slightly overdraw your liner, so that it sits just outside the natural line of your lips. This will make the lips look fuller and ensure your lipstick doesn’t bleed.
  3. Thirdly, when deliberating between what colour to apply, I’d suggest a red shade (after all, it is the colour of romance!) with a blue undertone. Why? Wearing a blue-based colour on your lips will counteract any yellow in your teeth, and accentuate those pearly whites.
  4. Last but certainly not least, no matter how luscious those lips are, if you’ve got bad breath you’re on your own. Make sure you brush thoroughly and especially your tongue to get rid of the bacteria that creates this social problem!

Have a great weekend and Happy Valentine’s Day!
